Los Angeles: Ryan Reynolds says he and Blake Lively were just 'buddies' while filming 'The Green Lantern' together six years ago.

Reynolds said after they wrapped, a new and more intimate flame was ignited while they were on a double date with other people, reported People magazine.
"About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across," he said.
The 39-year-old 'Deadpool' star, who wed Lively, 28, in September 2012, also said the pair shared a platonic friendship before they started dating.
"We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends," he said.
