Furious on learning that his close friend had raped his sister, the 38-year-old man lured his victim to a desolate spot, got him drunk, and murdered him before surrendering to cops
A 38-year-old man meted out retribution in the most macabre form to his friend on Tuesday night. He killed his friend by chopping off his private parts after his sister alleged that she had been raped by him. He then surrendered before the Pant Nagar police in Ghatkopar (East).
The Pant Nagar police were shocked when a man came to the Kamraj Nagar police chowky, chopper in hand. Identifying himself as Kannan Muttu Kumar Swami Pillai, he proceeded to admit that he had killed his friend Govindan (35).

Pillai alleged that Govindan had raped his sister, and that he had murdered him avenge her rape. Pillai was then escorted to the spot at Hari Om Chawl in Kamraj Nagar, Ghatkopar (East), where he had dumped Govindan’s body after slashing his throat and chopping off his genitals.
Pillai claimed that he had given Govindan a place to stay and a job. “Pillai had given Govindan a place to stay, when he moved to Mumbai five years back,” said a police officer from Pant Nagar police station, adding, “Pillai also roped in Govindan in his fish food business. But on Monday, he learnt that Govindan used to talk to his sister very often, and that he had raped her.”
Furious, Pillai decided to teach Govindan a lesson, and took him out on Tuesday night. When Govindan was drunk and the two had finished dining at an isolated spot near Kamraj Nagar, Pillai allegedly slit his throat and chopped his private parts, killing him. “Pillai has been arrested and booked for murder,” said an officer from Pant Nagar police station.u00a0
