Police suspect robbery might have been the motive
A 30-year-old man was killed after being stabbed near Kalyanpuri in east Delhi late on Sunday Night. It was around 3 am when police received a call in this respect.
Police said that Amit Bangali who worked in the nearby area was attacked and stabbed by unidentified assailants. Robbery is suspected to be the motive. Amit was rushed to a nearby hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
"It is possible that Amit might have tried to raise an alarm when he was being attacked by assailants and that is why they killed him. He was stabbed in the stomach and he bled to death. We found him lying in a pool of blood near Chand Cinema. Motive of the murder will be clear only after the statement of any eyewitness.
We have lodged an FIR of murder and have sent his body for post-mortem to a nearby government hospital," said a senior police officer.
The deceased was reportedly a native of West Bengal.
