Police said that the accused Kumar Karan was two years senior of the girl in a South Mumbai law-college. He met the girl in college and was smitten by her. He also took her phone number from one of their common friends. Since then, the accused started sending her messages from an anonymous number and bogus name.
The victim first ignored the messages, but later when the number of obscene messages started increasing, she approached the police officials.
A senior crime branch officer said that police prepared a decoy and made him talk to the accused as a client who was looking for a lawyer who can fight his case in court.
The accused responded to the calls of 'client' and when he came to meet him outside a court in Patna to finalise a deal, Gamdevi police officials arrested him. He was then brought to Mumbai.
The accused had been sending obscene messages to the girl since last one and half months.
The accused had completed his law in the year 2012 from Pune.
