Corporators across party lines slammed the civic administration for the water shortage in Mumbai on Wednesday at the standing committee meeting at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters.

These corporators not only slammed the civic body for failing to arrest water leakage which makes up around 30 per cent of water supplied but also failure to crack down on water thefts.

Similar sentiment was echoed in the general body meeting on Tuesday. When representative of the administration Pallavi Darade was asked about these details, she could not give a detailed reply saying how much water was being lost and what action was taken.

A special meeting, has now been planned on Tuesday.
