DB Marg police station officials released a sketch of an unidentified man, who picked up an 8-year-old girl and molested her.

The police said the incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday when the child was sleeping next to her father on a footpath next to their hut. The unidentified accused picked the girl and allegedly put his hands inside her pants. However, he fled the spot when the girl started crying for help.

An officer from DB Marg police station said, “The victim is changing her statement, as she is unable to recollect her molester’s face properly. The victim in her statement stated that she was sleeping on the footpath when she was picked up and was left on the same stretch of the footpath, but at a distance from her hut, by the accused.”
The girl managed to get back to her residence and narrated the incident to her family following which they registered a complaint around 5 am. The unidentified accused has been booked under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
