A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolition team that was engaged in bringing down an illegal encroachment in Malwani was attacked by angry local on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the BMC, officials from the P/North ward office had gone to Malwani to demolish two illegal structures measuring 25x25 and 40x50 respectively.

"While carrying out a demolition action of the structure, Sandhya Amarjit Singh pelted a stone at the excavator damaging it. The driver of the excavator JCB saved himself by jumping out just in time. But the JCB has been fully damaged," said a press note issued by the BMC.
The structures were later demolished and the officials are going to file an FIR
