Mumbai's crime branch unit 4, on Saturday arrested a 22-year-old along with three more accused for opening fire on Ganesh Pol, 26 a resident of Sewri.
The main accused Sushant Salunkhe along with two other accused are on run. The RAK Marg police has registered attempt to murder case.
The incident took place on May 12 late night. The victim, Pol was travelling back home on his bike when the four accused on two bikes stopped him. They first hit Pol with pistol and then fired one round which luckily hit Pol's right hand finger. The four accused escaped from the spot.
After investigations, the crime branch identified Salunkhe as main accused. According to the cops, the victim and all the accused are friends. Salunkhe was lodged in Nashik jail earlier and Pol used to meet Salunkhe's wife for jail and paper work related to his release.
One of Salunkhe's friend informed him in the jail about Pol's with his wife.
When Salunkhe was out on bail in January, he made a plan to eliminate his friend Pol for having an affair with his wife. He even confronted Pol once but Pol dismissed such allegations. The cops said Salunkhe along with his three friends made the plan to eliminate Pol, which was not successful.
The cops on Saturday arrested Aniket Kadam, 22 in the case. The cops said Kadam was riding one of the two bikes. The hunt for other accused is on.
