A 40-year-old riding in an inebriated state sustained serious injuries after meeting with an accident around 1 am at Pushpa Park near Juhu. Anmol Mandal was on his way home when he lost control over the two-wheeler, skidding four feet and dashing into a traffic island and injuring his head. He started bleeding, when two youngsters and an autorickshaw driver passing by took him to hospital.

Speaking to mid-day, Himanshu Damani, one of the two youngsters, said, "My friend Sagar (Solanki) and I were passing by when we saw people gathered around a spot. We went there and saw Mandal lying on the road with injuries to his head. We picked him up and, with the help of an autorickshaw driver, managed to take him to Cooper Hospital."
He was given stitches to stop the bleeding.

"He appeared to be drunk and had sustained some serious injuries. Within an hour, his family came to the hospital, and we handed over his belongings to them," said Solanki.

Another autorickshaw driver who witnessed the accident and informed his family members said, "Mandal lives in Nehru Nagar near Mithibai College. He works as a private driver, which is why I recognised him. I called up his wife and brother and told them what had happened."
