Mumbai railways will now be offering season passes for six months and one year from April 1. This will be for the first time that suburban rail passes will be available for such a long period, unlike the current system of monthly and quarterly.
The Railway Ministry has decided to introduce half-yearly season tickets (HST) and yearly season tickets (YST) in addition to the provision of monthly season tickets & quarterly season tickets in an effort to make the lives of suburban commuters easier.
The half-yearly season tickets and yearly season tickets will be available for all categories of passengers.
The Half Yearly season tickets and Yearly season tickets shall be chargeable at 5.4 times as against 06 times and 10.8 times as against 12 times of monthly season ticket respectively. This ratio shall be applicable for both first class and second class season tickets commuters.
As in the case of Monthly & Quarterly season tickets, no refund shall be permissible for Half Yearly season tickets and Yearly Season tickets.
