An on-duty constable attached with the Dadar GRP, Sudhir Hanumant Jatar (32), was attacked by two local goons at Sion station, at around 7 pm on Wednesday.
An officer from Dadar police station said, “Jatar was posted at platform number 2 of the railway station when these two arrived and attacked him with an iron rod. They didn’t even speak to the constable; they just came and hit him on his head.” The constable was taken to Sion Hospital.
He received five stitches for his head injury and was released after the treatment. Railway Commissioner of Police Madhukar Pandey said, “We are yet to ascertain the facts and the motive behind the attack. We are trying to get details on the incident as the constable is on sick leave currently.”
