Fans who are hoping to cheer for Andy Murray during his Wimbledon final clash against Roger Federer may just have to miss out on the opportunity.

Murray magic may push ticket prices beyond Euro 45,000

Murray’s surge till the final has witnessed a rise in the ticket prices, according to online ticket sellers, who felt that a pair of tickets could go beyond £45,000 by the time the final starts.

The debenture tickets — which are freely tradable (on the London Stock Market through market makers Evolution Securities Limited) — have seen a 25 percent rise in the prices in a matter of just one night.

“The level of demand has been crazy. We just don’t know how much higher prices could go for the final,” a spokesman said yesterday.

“If the rise is 25 per cent on a daily basis, a pair of tickets will cost more than £45,000 by Sunday. This is the best chance for Murray. The excitement is mounting as Murray could make it happen this year,” the spokesman added.

Elsewhere, pairs of debenture tickets for this final were put on sale for up to £10,000 on a rival online ticket seller Seatwave with price starting at £3,000. Tickets were also up for grabs on online auction site eBay with starting bids of £2,000 invited. u00a0The All-England club issues five-year debentures to raise funds for expenditures of the club.u00a0
