The Piatnitsky Choir has the best of singers, dancers and musicians, representing 30 regions of Russia. They’ve performed in 50 countries across the world and are a delightful introduction to Russian culture and folk art.

This weekend, the choir will perform in Mumbai as part of an event organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Consulate General of Russian Federation in Mumbai and Russian Culture Centre for Science and Culture.
The folk choir consists of the chorus, the dancing group and the orchestra. It even has its own folklore studio with a collection of folklore materials and recordings. Founded on March 2, 1911 by Pyatnitsky Mitrofan Yefimovich, it came to be known for its performances of Folk music from across Russia and trained singers replaced the peasants. Expect authentic Russian folk songs, dancing and music, which reflects theatrical tendencies of the 21st century.
