Bangaloreans smile. You can celebrate Valentine's Day peacefully. Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Mutalik said he wouldn't take any action on couples in the city on Valentine's Day.

"Yes. We have abandoned our plans of stalling Valentine's Day celebrations in the city. We had said that we would catch couples celebrating Valentine's Day and get them married in a temple. Now, we will not be doing any such thing in Bangalore. We will go ahead with our plans in Mangalore, Belgaum and other cities in the state,"u00a0Mutalik told MiD DAY.

Heu00a0said there are evil powers in Bangalore which want to tarnish the Sene's image and sou00a0the Seneu00a0wants to keep itself away from Valentine's Day. "The leftist organisationsu00a0and other bad organisations have planned to createu00a0ruckus in the city on Valentine's and put the blame onu00a0Sri Ramu00a0Sene.u00a0Political parties planned to take law into hands and then blame the Sene," he said.

Mutalik,u00a0however, believes his aim isu00a0accomplished. "We wanted to create awareness about the ills of Valentine's Day. We have been successful. Some colleges haveu00a0sent letters to us saying theyu00a0would not allow celebrations of theu00a0day in their campuses. Some hotels too have said they would not hold any celebrations," he said.
