The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scheduled for last morning was postponed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) at the last moment, citing orders of the Punjab and Haryana HC on a writ petition.
The notification, uploaded by NCERT on its website www.nic.in, states: "In compliance with the orders of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh in CWP No. 4594 of 2014 dated 09.05.2014, it is hereby intimated to all concerned that the NTSE stage II examination, which was scheduled to be held on 11.05.2014 has been postponed till further notification."

Dilip Sahasrabuddhe, commissioner of Maharashtra State Council of Examination, conducting authority for the National Talent Search Examination in the state, said he did not know the exact
reasons behind postponing the exam.
"Besides being the conducting authority, we have no role in NTSE," he said.
