A mail, purportedly sent by the radical group on Thursday, says HuJI had nothing to do with Wednesday's bomb blast
Media houses in Delhi received another email on Thursday, purportedly from Indian Mujahideen (IM), claiming responsibility for Wednesday's attack. The mail also said that terror outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-al Islami (HuJI) had no role to play in the blast. On Wednesday, a mail in the name of HuJI took responsibility for the blast outside the premises of Delhi High Court.

The mail from IM was purportedly written by "Chotoo" and sent from an email ID 'chotoominani5@gmail.com'. The mail was received by media houses at around 12.40 pm on Thursday. The email also warned of another blast outside a shopping mall on Tuesday. The mail is in Hindi while IM generally writes in English and Urdu.
Investigators have detained five persons, including the owner of a cyber cafe in Jammu and Kashmir from where the mail was sent and also questioned another suspect in Bihar in their search for definite leads in the bomb blast.
They have traced Wednesday's email of the terror outfit HuJI to a cyber cafe in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir and detained its owner Mehmood Khawja, his brother Majid and three others for questioning.u00a0"We are examining the email received by media houses about its authenticity and veracity and are taking it seriously.
Some information also indicated a Kashmir link with the HuJI mail and it is being pursued with the help of J&K police," said UK Bansal, secretary of internal security in the home ministry. Security agencies, including National Investigation Agency (NIA), are also looking into the IM email, but serious apprehensions are being raised as to whether this was a genuine mail or a prank.
Toll rises
Another blast victim, P Patra, 58, resident of Lodhi Colony, succumbed to injuries on Thursday, after suffering two heart attacks. Patra was admitted to RML Hospital. "He had to go through surgeries for shrapnel injuries, but was recovering slowly. Then, he suffered a minor heart attack, which he survived, but died of another massive heart attack," said Dr TS Sidhu, Medical Superintendent, RML. 87-year-old Nizamuddin was the oldest among those killed in the blast, which also claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman - Nalini Aggarwal. The youngest among the victims was 21-year-old Amanpreet from Guru Nanakpura in southwest Delhi. Another octogenarian killed was Inderpal Singh Anand (80), who resided in Geeta Colony in east Delhi. The other victims were Darshan Lal Jain (75) from Shakti Nagar, Harish Dutt Joshi (68) from Naraina, Pawan Bansal (62) from Gurgaon, Mehtab Singh Dabas (57) from Ghewra village, Ashok Kumar Sharma (55) from Palam, Vinod Jeswal (54) from Sarai Rohilla, Veerpal (52) from Gandhi Nagar and Pramod Kumar (40) from Hari Nagar.
