Antwerp: When the Indian team last played at the Olympics, it was the beginning of the 1980s and all the girls in the current national squad were born only into the 1990s.
Yet they nurse the dream of being at Olympics, where Indian women's only appearance was in 1980 when women's hockey made its debut.
Three years ago, they were one game away from making the grade, before losing to South Africa.
On Saturday, they have a chance of making the Rio Olympics, when they play Japan in the battle for fifth place at the Fintro Hockey World League here.
The Olympics is a dream, admitted skipper Ritu Rani. "We have won medals at Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, but Olympics is where we want to be," she said.
