Athletes are often known to be nervous and worse still, scared, ahead of a stage as big as the Olympic Games. However, India's World No 1 archer Deepika Kumari has negated any such fears
“Olympics is not a ghost, so there is nothing to be scared of. I have the self belief and confidence, that’s how, I am here,” the 18-year-old doubled gold medallist at the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games told PTI. Coming from Jharkhand, where India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also belongs, leads to an obvious comparison.u00a0

Deepika however played that down too even though she spoke highly of the World Cup-winning India skipper. “He is a great personality and his achievements speak for themselves. It feels great that we belong to the same place. Hope I can also achieve the ultimate goal in a sportsperson’s life by winning an Olympic medal,” she added. u00a0
