Inadequate machines provided by three agencies cause delay; state officials write to Dist Collector, ask him to appoint non-registered companies to speed up work
Referring to the slow pace of work on the phase II of the Aadhar Yojna, which commenced on May 1, officials from the state government shot off a letter to the District Collector on September 6 asking him to appoint non-registered agencies to speed up the process.
The delay was attributed to the low number of machines provided by three agencies — Glodyne Technoserve Limited, Techsmart India Private Limited and Karvy Data Management — for completion of the process.

Naib Tehsildar Ashok Kamble, who is supervising the implementation of phase II of the yojna in the district, excluding the city and Cantonment which fall under PMC’s jurisdiction, informed the state government that Glodyne Technoserve Limited is a city-based company and the other two agencies were from Mumbai.
“For time being, a few non-registered companies are helping us speed up the process, as the appointed companies earlier couldn’t even complete two per cent of the work,” Kamble said.
Kamble confirmed the three companies had agreed to provide 240 machines for the entire district, but in reality were using just 37. “Besides, most of the time the machine operators would either remain absent from work or would leave the UID centres without inspection officer’s permission.
Men not at work
All the three companies even failed to provide necessary materials required for the smooth execution of the scheme. “They didn’t even provide UPS and converters in the rural areas where load shedding is a major problem,” Kamble said.
Deputy District Election Officer Apurva Wankhede, district in-charge of Aadhar Yojna, said phase II was expected to over March 2013. “We have to complete around 80 per cent work till March 2013.
However the non-registered companies, which we have appointed on a temporary basis, have not yet started the work,” Wankhede said.u00a0
