After becoming the first Indian to win the Golden Globe, music maestro A R Rahman scored triple Oscar nominations in two categories best original score and the best original song (for Jai Ho and O Saya), an unprecedented feat for any Indian.

He shares the nomination for Jai Ho with lyricist Gulzar.

The third Indian to win a nomination this year is sound designer Resul Pookutty, who bagged one in the sound mixing category.

'On top of the world'

Rahman said he felt on "top of the world". "I did not think it will get there. God has been really kind. I have to thank the prayers of all the people," he added. He also disclosed that he was getting offers from Hollywood producers.

The good news came in the wake of trouble for the film. A slum-dwellers' welfare group has filed a defamation case against Rahman and one of its stars, actor Anil Kapoor, for depicting slum-dwellers in a bad light and violating their human rights.
