While 1,174 houses remain unsold in posh localities such as Malabar Hill, Colaba, Walkeshwar and Altamount Road, the central and western suburbs – Kalyan, Dombivli, Virar, Vasai, Palghar – have the maximum number of unsold units.
According to the report released yesterday, there are 4,281 unsold houses in Dadar, Lower Parel, Worli, Mahalaxmi and Prabhadevi, 19,453 in the central suburbs (Sion, Chembur, Wadala, Kurla, Ghatkopar) and 22,051 in the western suburbs (Goregaon, Malad, Bandra and Andheri).
While 24,618 flats in Navi Mumbai remain unsold, peripheral central suburbs (Kalyan, Dombivli, Ambernath, Karjat) have 31,758, and western suburbs (Virar, Vasai, Mira Road, Palghar) have 22,126 unsold houses. Nearly 13,192 houses remain to be sold in Thane.
