Pillars of support
We shifted to Mumbai seven years ago. My parents are music enthusiasts, and fully support my brother (Palaash) and me. I started singing since the age of four. My mom ensured that I got the requisite training for playback singing. She also got an Urdu tutor for me. She’s quite protective and always accompanies me on my recordings and parties. And they are certain rules we have to follow.

Around the worldu00a0
Till date, I have been to Nairobi, London, Dubai, Amsterdam and Bangkok. I love concerts because of the high of ‘live’ performances and the fact that I get to travel. Moreover, people abroad contribute generously for my cause.

Singing along
I am a huge fan of Shreya Ghoshal. Her voice has a wonderful soulful quality to it. I also admire Shalmali Kholgade for her stylish renditions. I enjoy Honey Singh’s party numbers as well.

Music going hi-tech
I think technology in music has been of great help to singers. Life’s much easier for us. Also, people hear new genres of music, which is a great thing. A thing like dubstep, which was unheard of a year ago is now finding a place in Indian music.u00a0
