Parthiv, Simran win sub-junior titles

Favourites Parthiv Chhabria and Simran Singhi expectedly dominated the boys and girls under-13 singles finals as they outplayed their respective opponents in straight games in the ASA-Maharashtra state sub-junior badminton tournament.

Parthiv, who defeated Tanishq Saxena 21-16, 21-15, however, had to endure a tough time against Harshad Jadhav in the semi-finals before he prevailed 16-21, 21-15, 21-18.

For Simran, it was smooth sailing, both in the semi-finals as well as in the final. Simran thrashed Samidnya Manchendar 21-3, 21-11 in the penultimate round and then played aggressively to down the bespectacled Janhavi Jagtap 21-5, 21-13.u00a0
