Priyanka Chopra graces the cover of the US and Asia editions of TIME 100. Here are other Bollywood stars who have been featured on the cover of the magazine
Priyanka Chopra will grace the cover of the US and Asia editions of TIME 100. This is for the first time that a Bollywood personality has been on the American and Asia cover at the same time for the TIME 100 most influential people in the world list.
The actress says, “TIME is an institution and to be chosen for the cover, especially for an issue which features the 100 most influential people in the world, is an achievement I’m truly proud of.”
Priyanka has been making waves internationally with her TV show 'Quantico' and her upcoming film, 'Baywatch'.
Yesteryear star, the late Parveen Babi, was the first Indian star to be featured on the cover of the Asia edition of Time magazine in 1976. She was 27 when the Time cover, titled Asia’s Frenetic Film Scene, came out. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan then featured on the Asia cover in 2003 as ‘the new face leading the invasion as Bollywood becomes global and goes hip’.
Shah Rukh Khan made it to the Asia cover in 2004 in a special issue that looked at Asia’s heroes: 20 under 40 followed by Aamir Khan whose TV show Satyameva Jayate put him on the Asia cover in 2012.
