A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a pastor at his residence in Thane on the pretext of marrying her, police said today.

The accused Bijuman KL (32) also forced the teenager to undergo abortion after she became pregnant and threatened to release her obscene pictures on social media if she disclosed the matter to anyone, they said. The accused is on the run.

Police Sub-inspector SP Barve of Shree Nagar police station said the girl, a resident of Pereira Nagar locality in the city, apparently entered into a physical relationship with Bijuman after the latter promised to marry her but went back on his word after she became pregnant.

"The victim told us that she and Bijuman had been in relationship since September 2012 and the accused used to 'rape' her at his residence near the church after spiking her drink with sedatives", Barve said.

Police said the girl did not reveal the matter to anyone as the pastor had threatened to kill her and her family members.u00a0
