Cops talk to her husband, parents to rule out foul play
A 25-year-old woman committed suicide at her Borivli residence on Friday evening by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. Yamini Patel, who stayed with her husband in the apartment, was found dead in her bedroom.u00a0The police are yet to ascertain why Patel killed herself and are speaking to her husband, Ritesh, and her parents, who arrived from Kenya on Saturday.
According to the cops, Ritesh works in the share market. On Friday he left home at noon after having lunch with his wife. When he returned at 6 pm, he found Patel’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. In his statement to the police, her father said she had called them the day before and spoken at length, showing no apparent signs of stress or tension.

Meanwhile, in Dahisar, a 14-year-old, identified as Sunny Patel, committed suicide at his residence in Koknipada after his mother scolded him for not doing well at school. According to the police, the Class IX student was reprimanded by his mother on Saturday morning. An hour later, when she returned home from the local market after shopping for Navratri, she found the child hanging from the ceiling.u00a0In both the cases police have taken Accidental Death Report (ADR). They are taking statements of family members and friends.
