The Film and Television Producers Guild of India Thursday announced the Renault Star Guild Awards nominations in a statement.
Rajkummar Rao ('Citylights'), Varun Dhawan ('Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'), Arjun Kapoor ('2 States'), Shah Rukh Khan ('Happy New Year'), Shahid Kapoor ('Haider'), Randeep Hooda ('Highway') and Aamir Khan ('pk') have been nominated for best actor in a leading role.
In the best actress in a leading role category, Kangana Ranaut ('Queen'), Priyanka Chopra ('Mary Kom'), Alia Bhatt ('2 States'), Deepika Padukone ('Happy New Year'), Rani Mukerji ('Mardaani'), Alia Bhatt ('Highway') and Anushka Sharma ('pk'), will vie for the trophy.
Mukesh Bhatt, president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, believes that the film and television industries have witnessed an incredible year in 2014 with as many as 12 debutant promising directors.
"We are very excited and look forward to the ceremony that will celebrate the best talent in the past year along with some incredible performances," Bhatt said.
The ceremony, which will take place in January itself, will be hosted by popular comedian Kapil Sharma.
