Over a period of two days - Saturday and Sunday - the railway police at Bandra Terminus seized gutka worth Rs 15 lakhs.
on Saturday, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials at Bandra Terminus seized 80 kg of gutka worth Rs 5 lakhs. Sources said that it was parceled from Lucknow in a long distance train.
The very next day, they intercepted a gutka consignment, allegedly from Kanpur, to the tune of 1400 kg worth Rs 10 lakhs.
The Bandra RPF has now informed Food and Drug Administration which has plunged into action.
Gutka is banned in Maharashtra yet it is still being sold through various unscrupulous means.
