For crediting another director for their Bollywood documentary

When Rakeysh Mehra produced Teen They Bhai with PVR Pictures, buzz was that it was because of the debacle of Delhi 6 with UTV Motion Pictures.

Nonetheless, when his name was announced as the director of documentary, Bollywood - The Greatest Love Story Ever Told that UTV was producing with and Shekhar Kapoor, it seemed that things had been sorted out.

However, it is now learnt that RM is having major issues with the production house for crediting international documentary maker Jeffrey Zimbalist as the co-director of the short film that premiered at Cannes this year.

A source informs Rakeysh was the obvious choice to helm the film. "The rest of the it, including bringing Jeffrey on board, was Shekhar's idea," says the source, adding RM was more than glad that Jeffrey, acclaimed for movies like Favela Rising, The Two Escobars, etc, was joining them.

"Since most of the docu is a collage of scenes and songs, there wasn't much scope for directorial work. So Jeff, who was roped in to edit, ended up doing most work," explains our source, pointing out that after doing so much work on the movie Jeff felt he was being shortchanged with just the editing credits.

Our source adds Jeff conveyed his grievance to UTV head honcho, Ronnie Screwvala, saying Rakeysh was hardly around. However, it seems Mehra wasn't kept in the loop.

And when he learnt about this, he was upset with the production house. "Consequently, he made his displeasure clear to Ronnie, who tried to reason with him. Their differences couldn't be sorted," says our source.

We contacted Rakeyshu00a0 and Siddharth Kapoor, CEO, UTV. But they were unavailable for comment.
