Ritik adds another gold to India's karate medals tally

Ritik Mehta, who won gold on Friday in the team Kata technique at the 6th Karate - Do Gojukai World Championship, added another gold to his tally on Saturday. This time he won first place in the boys below-13 years category of the individual Kata technique.

Meanwhile, India’s medals tally swelled on Saturday as Nitya Dalal won the gold, while Ankita Shah won the silver medal in the below-seven years category of the Kata technique at the packed NSCI Stadium.

India’s Deep Dave also won gold in the boys below-eight years category in the Kata technique. u00a0In the girls below-eight years category of the Kata technique, India’s Muskaan Shah and Mehreen Zaki fought hard, but ultimately had to be content with a bronze medal.

Then, in the girls below-nine years category of the Kata technique, India’s Stuti Bhattacharya won bronze, while in the girls below-11 years category, the bronze medal went to India’s Kaninhka Kareekar. Finally, in the boys below-nine years category, India’s Zayed Shirji and Prajwal Patil won bronze medals.u00a0
