New Delhi: RSS leader Ram Madhav today formally joined BJP in the presence of new party President Amit Shah.
Madhav, who was in charge of media and public relations in RSS, had been deputed to BJP by the Sangh. The RSS has also deputed its 'pracharak' Shiv Prakash to BJP. Prakash looked after affairs of RSS in western region of Uttar Pradesh, a state where BJP had put up a splendid show in the last Lok Sabha elections.
The two leaders are likely to find prominent places in BJP organisation under Shah.
The Sangh, the ideological mentor of BJP, had deputed many of its leaders to the party from time to time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had been a full-time RSS 'pracharak' (organiser).
Among other BJP leaders who were earlier part of RSS are general secretaries Murlidhar Rao and Ram Lal, who was also present on the occasion.
