Celebrating her 28th birthday with her friends from the industry, the Kerala-born actress threw a party at a Mumbai hotspot on Friday night. “The actress had sent out invites to all her co-stars including Salman, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and many others. But for some unavoidable reasons, Salman and Akshay could not make it,” says a source close to her.

This is the first time that Asin threw a party ever since she started her career in Bollywood. “It was really a sweet gesture from Salman to personally call her and tell her about his unavailability as soon as he received the invitation. Akshay could not attend the party as he was busy shooting for his film in Delhi.”

Meanwhile, Asin has always preferred working birthdays so far but this year, she wanted to make it special. The actress was shooting for Umesh Shukla’s upcoming film in Bangkok along with Abhishek Bachchan and was not willing to cancel the schedule.
“To her surprise producer Bhushan Kumar got to know about it and decided to wrap up the shoot one day early so that she could be back in Mumbai in time for her big day.” Asin’s spokesperson confirmed the story.u00a0
