"The security is just perfect and I feel players shouldn't be worried about their safety in India," said Dhoni, who is also the India skipper.
Dhoni, who arrived here for a weeklong training camp with the Super Kings, pointed out that all franchise owners have put in place security measures for players' protection.
The skipper's statement assumes significance in the wake of concern several foreign players, who are due to participate in the IPL, have expressed following Pune terror bombing last month.
Assessing the Super Kings team, Dhoni was optimistic of winning the trophy after near-misses in the previous two editions when the Chennai side finished runners-up in the inaugural season (2008) and were semi-finalists last year when the tournament was held in South Africa.
He said his team's chances would yet again revolve around their strong batting order headed by the likes of Australian stars Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey besides new South African recruit Justin Kemp and the likes of Suresh Raina.
Dhoni also endorsed the rule of limiting the number of foreign players to four in the playing eleven. "After all, this (the IPL) is an Indian competition and the focus should be on Indian players. The restriction on the foreign players is just perfect," he said.
