Shocking crime! 21-year-old labourer sexually abuses 6-year-old girl in Pune
A six-year-old girl is critical after being sexually abused by a 21-year-old labourer at an under-construction site in Pune.
The incident came to light after the minor complained about experiencing pain in her private parts to her mother, who rushed her to the hospital. She later registered a complaint on midnight Saturday, with the Hinjewadi Police Station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Pune city police.
The police have arrested Yogesh Bhagwan Jhalte (21), who hails from Jalgoan and is currently residing at Malunje. He has been arrested under the relevant sections of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at a Pimpri-based government hospital.
Arun Vaykar inspector in-charge of Hinjewadi Police Station said, “The survivor's parents are working on the same site where the accused Yogesh is an employee. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon around 3.30 pm. The girl was playing with her friends when Yogesh, who had worked in the night shift was at home. He called the girl under the pretext of teaching her a new game and sexually abused her. He gave her sweets an hour later and threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone.”
He added, “The girl went home and her mother found her lying on bed. She refused to wake up and complained of pain in her private parts. The minor was then admitted to the hospital where the doctor revealed to the parent that she is a victim of sexual abuse. Around 9 pm the girl regained consciousness and named Yogesh as the culprit. By then we were inspecting the area and collecting information about labours and other people, who were at site and found Yogesh missing. He was found at one of local beer bars where people thrashed him and handed him over to us.”
Victim is being kept under observation at the hospital's intensive care unit. Her condition is said to be critical.
Accused Yogesh, who was produced before the special judge on Sunday has been remanded to police custody for a week.
