As the board exams are just a month away, the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) has released a short film -- Exam Stress, A Natural Feeling, Lets Learn to Deal With It -- and will soon circulate a booklet on the same topic across all schools affiliated to it in the state.
From next week, the 10-minute film will be shown in all schools once or twice every week. In the film, students and expert psychologists will be shown talking about exam-related stress and ways to overcome it. The 72-page booklet will include tips on how to manage stress by exercising, sleeping and resting along with a diet plan for students to follow, especially during exam time.
It also advises students to make a list of their weekly plan, study-related tasks, domestic commitments and other leisure activities to reduce stress. For now, the students can download the booklet and watch a preview of the film on the CBSE website.
"We'll will also put up links on tips to beat education-related stress and anxiety on the website along with frequently asked questions and answers for students to refer to. There are multiple ways to beat stress and this is just one part of it. We are doing everything step by step," Rama Sharma, CBSE PRO, said.
She added that though the film will be shown across all schools soon, the board had decided to start with its website as it is visited frequently by students and parents. "Besides this, we have also employed a number of counsellors across all our schools," she said.
The CBSE board exams are set to begin from March 1, whereas internal school exams will begin in the last week of February. This is the second time that the board has taken up an initiative to help students beat unwanted tensions during exam time.
"Last year, the board had presented a similar kind of film and it had been of great help to students. This year too we are looking forward to it," said G Dhar, a school principal.
