Mumbai: Sidak Singh’s all-round show (56 runs and 2-29) ensured defending champions Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) end Day Three of the four-day Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Harris Shield Elite Division final against VN Sule Guruji at Bombay Gymkhana yesterday, on a high.

Resuming on their overnight score of 140-5, a sixth wicket partnership of 106 between Shubham Verma (74) and Sidak (56) helped the Bandra school post 310 in 94 overs. Shubham’s 109-ball knock was laced with 13 boundaries and two sixes, while Sidak hit four boundaries in the 145 balls he faced. Later, left-arm-spinner Sidak claimed the wickets of Sule Guruji opener Prathamesh Chavan (14) and Om Jadhav (0).

Bowling off-spin, Rizvi’s record-breaking youngster Prithvi Shaw, who was dismissed for 18 on Day Two, was at his miserly best — giving away just two runs, with two of his three overs being maidens. He also claimed two wickets. At stumps, Sule Guruji were reeling at 91-5 in 32 overs. Sule Guruji skipper Yash Bhojane was the pick of the bowlers with 7-88.
