Willy Wonka would have approved and so do we, of this new dessert place in town solely dedicated to all things chocolaty

the space is small with high tables and tools scattered all over. Chances are that you will not even notice it as you walk down the Brigade Circle.

But walking past Cad-B, the chocolate drink parlour without peeping in, is a bad idea if you are a true chocoholic.

Originally from Pune, Cad-B has been ruling the hearts of chocolate lovers there for more than a decade and now Bangaloreans get a chance to get wooed by it.

Once you enter the parlour, there is nothing that strikes you. In fact your first impression may be that this place is just for college kids.

But one look at the menu and you are bound to change your mind, as it has all the ingredients to lure a chocolate addict irrespective of his or her age.

All the drinks are available in small, medium and large sizes priced at Rs 35, 50 and 70 respectively.

The joint offers two kinds of drinks- Cad-B and Cad-M. While Cad-B stands for the Cadbury Bitter, which has more dark chocolate and less milk, Cad-M stands for Cadbury Milk, which means more milk and less chocolate.

The menu looked so interesting that you will be tempted to taste them all.

The menu listed most drinks as a Cad. One section is completely devoted to all kinds of nuts and chocolates like bitter, dark, milk and white while the other section offers all kinds of fruity concoctions. We initially settled for a small White Cad (Rs 50) and Walnut Cad (Rs 50).

Since my friend and I had never been exposed to the taste of Cad-B we had no idea of what was coming.

At last it came but after a rather long wait. A moderately sized plastic glass filled with what looked like an ice cream shake with a thick layer of chocolate shavings heaped on the top. We wasted no time and attacked it with our spoons. One bite and we knew that trying out Cad-B was not a mistake.

A thick smooth concoction, Cad-B is nothing like what we have tasted before. It's thicker than a shake, thinner than ice cream and the consistency is smooth like mousse.

But it's none of these. While the White Cad had the smooth taste of a mousse with rough chocolate flakes on the top, the Walnut Cad was a nutty affair with a generous helping of walnuts and chocolate.

Both drinksu00a0 came with grated chocolate that did not taste at all like the dairy milk chocolates we are used to, instead this was more like homemade stuff.

The drinks were a heady mix of the right amount of ice cream, cream, chocolate and nuts. We then decided to try a Special Magic (Rs 50), a pleasant blend of tutti-fruity, black currant, rose and vanilla ice cream served with a thick layer of chocolate once again.

If you are wondering if Cad-B is only all about chocolate then we are happy to change your thoughts. The parlour also offers shakes with a variety of flavours like Anjeer, Litchi, Dry Fruits, Kaju Badam and more.

However, by the end of our second dessert, we were satiated and wanted the chocolate overload to settle down and decided to give the other shakes a try another day.

Cad B's biggest advantage in this city is perhaps its location which is bang opposite a popular college. Reasonably priced and high on taste, this is one place where we are going for a seconds soon.
