Former chief minister Rajnath Singh, presently on his Jan Swabhiman Yatra across the state, has promised improvement in the deplorable condition the state is in, if BJP comes to power after the upcoming elections
Unlike previous election rallies, one won't hear slogans like 'Jai Shri Ram' at any public meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) this time in districts of Uttar Pradesh. In order to revive its fortunes in the upcoming election, the BJP has promised to implement all the good policies that are being implemented in different NDA-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Bihar.

Development a priority
During the Jan Swabhiman Yatra of former UP chief minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a state tour, he has made it clear that his party will contest the upcoming UP election on development issues. Singh has promised that if his party comes to power, it will ensure disbursement of agriculture loan to farmers on one per cent interest rate like it has facilitated the scheme of subsidised farmer loan in Karnataka. Similarly, the Ladli Laxmi scheme for the girl child will be implemented like in Madhya Pradesh. Singh also ensured that his party's government will implement the Public Services Guarantee Act, like in Bihar, to prevent corruption.
'We are a better choice'
Although the party leader does not hesitate to highlight the negative points of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and its leader and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati, Samajwadi Party and Congress, it is trying to highlight how BJP rule will be better than others.
"I do not oppose the installation of statues of great leaders, but why has Mayawati installed her own statues along with her election symbol elephant? She could have utilised that money in other welfare works, including returning the loan amount of farmers," Singh said, while addressing public meetings at Ghazipur and Mau in eastern UP. Rajnath Singh is presently on Jan Swabhiman Yatra in UP and he covers an average of 150 km everyday. His yatra will conclude at Faizabad (Ayodhya) on November 17.
