Sonam Kapoor takes break from 'Veere Di Wedding', goes back to school

While Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania will be facing the camera in Phuket over the weekend, Sonam Kapoor will be missing in action from Veere Di Wedding shoot. The actor has taken a two-day break to visit her alma mater, United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) in Singapore. Kapoor has been invited to be a part of their Impact Of Giving gala tonight.

The black-tie affair aims to raise money in support of the UWCSEA scholarship programme, which supports students from varying socio-economic backgrounds.

While catching up with her college friends is on her mind, the student of the 2003 batch will also be one of the speakers at the event. Kapoor will also shed light on the importance of education in shaping the future of the world. Known to speak her mind fiercely, she will also stress on the importance of inclusiveness in the current political climate.

Kapoor says, "I'm really excited about revisiting UWC. The gala is something I really wanted to lend my support to as it focuses on the impact education has on the world."

Chris Edwards, head of the school, says, "Our mission is focused on the impact education can have on the world. We are proud that Sonam Kapoor will join us in broadening that impact."
