The Big Umbrella brings Apple Seeds, the award-winning kids' activity centre based in New York, to Mumbai

Conceptualising an innovative concept for preschool isn't the easiest these days. The Big Umbrella, promoters of education in this field have brought Apple Seeds, the award winning, New York based kids' activity centre to Mumbai.

This all-in-one play space opened yesterday at Gowalia Tank and includes state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure along with friendly teachers who facilitate interactive programmes. Led by Shreena and Nisaurg Doshi, the experimental space enables newborns and kids up to the age of 5 to explore, discover, create and grow through playground activities and classes that encourage and enhance inter personal communication, creative thinking, gross and fine motor skills as well as language building.

The best part is that the curriculum is designed in Europe and America, but customised to suit Indian requirements. The programme uses a blend of Montessori, Playway and Reggio Emilia methods of preschool education and caters to multiple intelligences compounded by Howard Gardener. Here's a chance to give your kid the best they deserve in a happy, explorative space.

At 79/81, Nirmal Niwas, 2, ground floor, August Kranti Marg, near Tejpal Auditorium, Gowalia Tank Call 43680000. Sessions commence in June
