SRK dragged to court for copyright violation

Neha Joshi, daughter of Sharad Joshi, a scriptwriter of the 1984 comedy show on DD Yeah Jo Hai Zindgai has filed a petition against Shah Rukh Khan's company Red Chillies Private Ltd, NDTV Imagine channel and the Oberois for copywriting their show without prior permission.

Neha Joshi, daughter of Sharad Joshi, a scriptwriter of the 1984 comedy show on DD Yeah Jo Hai Zindgai has filed a petition against Shah Rukh Khan's company Red Chillies Private Ltd, NDTV Imagine channel and the Oberois for copywriting their show without prior permission.



According to the petition, the same serial by the name Ghar Ki Baat is starting on the NDTV Imagine channel.



According to their Advocate Ashok Pandey, they have already filed a case at the City Civil Court on Thursday and the case will come up for hearing today afternoon at 2.30 am.

Said Pandey, "We came to know about the Shah Rukh's show has copied our show after we heard his interview. He had told in the interview that his show is the copy of Sharad Joshi's serial."


He added, "The script was written by Joshi and the show was then produced by Oberois. They have now sold it to the actor's company and they are releasing the show without the family's permission. Hence we have filed the case at the court under the Copyright Act."
