Krish Adhikari (4th and 46th minute) and captain Harsh Rall (21st and 32nd minute) scored a brace each. Kartik Bele and Ishan Rana were the other scorers in the goal-fest.

Coach Laxman Bisht called it his team’s best performance, saying: “We finished sixth last year. This year our team’s performance has been really good. We have made it to the semi-finals for the first time.” Meanwhile, Krish who has scored five goals in four matches, hopes to see his team play the final.

“This is my first season in the U-16 team. I was in the school’s U-14 side last year. We didn’t expect to come so far. Now that we have made it to the semi-finals, I hope we reach the final.”

The Kandivli school’s skipper Harsh wants his team to go all out in the coming games. “We have a good side and would want to go all out in the semis no matter who the opposition is,” said the 15-year-old.

Meanwhile, Bombay Scottish (Mahim) remained unbeaten with four wins from as many matches. They registered a 2-1 victory over St Mary’s SSC (Mazagaon) to top Group ‘B’ with 12 points. Shanay Gandhi and Dikshant Verma scored for the Mahim team, while Shahnawaz Shaikh was on target for the Mazagaon outfit.
