Acknowledged by the Guinness World Records to be the world's largest floating Christmas tree, it takes no less than 3 million lights to light up this 85-metre high perennial woody 'plant', which is supported by a metal structure. The tree will stay illuminated every night from now till January 6, 2011, when its lights, reflectors and ornaments will be removed.

a whopping $11 million, the Christmas tree at the Emirates Palace hotel is decorated with ornaments made from solid gold and precious stones, including diamonds, emeralds and sapphires. Hotel authorities are reportedly hankering for their place in the Guinness Book, but the 'weight' of all that bling has given them sleepless nights.
