A 24-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan after he couldn't make it to Delhi School of Economics (DSE) on Monday night.
Identified as Parab Saranjeet Singh, a resident of Model Town area of north-west Delhi, the victim was reportedly suffering from depression after he was not offered admission in DSE.
No suicide note was recovered and the police have recorded the family members' statement. In a similar incident, a 21-year-old newlywed woman was found dead in Ambedkar Nagar on Tuesday.
According to police, the deceased, Sonia, allegedly committed suicide at her residence at Madangiri village, around 8.30 am.
She was found hanging by a ceiling fan inside her room by her family members. She was declared dead on arrival at AIIMS. The postmortem is yet to be done.
