Rower Swaran Singh Virk may not have a chance to win a medal, but that didn't stop him from giving his best and finish second in a minor placings race in single sculls at the London Olympics yesterday
Swaran finished second in semi-final C, with a timing of 7:36.25 at the Eton Dorney Rowing Centre. A fourth-place finish in the quarter-finals on Tuesday ousted him from competition. He will now compete in the final C tomorrow, which will be for the 13th to 18th placings.
However, Sandeep Kumar and Manjeet Singh fought hard to avoid the wooden spoon in lightweight double sculls.
