The Thane city unit of the BJP has urged district Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde to name the Kapurbawdi fly over here after late BJP leader Gopinath Munde.
In a memorandum submitted to the minister, the BJP State Unit Executive Member Sandeep Lele said that Munde had special love and affection for Thane and this was the only was to pay a befitting tribute to the great leader.
The rise of Munde from a grassroot leader to Union minister was really inspirational and his memory can be kept alive only by naming the bridge after him, it said. The other signatories to the memorandum include Sanjay Waghule, the leader of the BJP party in the TMC and other office bearers of the party from Thane city.
