Thankfully, help is at hand for city folk who lean towards healthy, natural foods. Bandra-based Gouri Gupta has made a living out of making breakfast cereals, energy bars and brownies using natural ingredients.

It all began when the 29 year-old's husband was put on a naturopathy diet, cutting out salt and sugar. Gouri took it upon herself to solve the puzzle: how does one create tasty meals within constrictions of a diet? "I wondered why healthy food couldn't be tasty.

That got me thinking about fresher, wholesome food options, which taste great too," she says.

Packing in the goodness of almonds, raisins, honey, bran and oatsu00a0-- her breakfast cereal has been quite popular with her clients.

"The cereal boasts high-fibre, high-carb and high-protein, making it a wholesome breakfast for those on the run." Her energy bars are hygienically packed versions of the breakfast cereal, which her customers carry around as healthy snacks.

Gouri prepares the all-time favouriteu00a0-- walnut brownies without using preservatives or stabilisers. She also custom-makes products.

Interestingly, the packaging is done by mentally-challenged persons associated with Om Creations and Shraddha, helping the differently abled lead independent lives.

"The idea is to offer yummy options that rank high on the health. You can eat anything you please, but what you eventually opt for makes all the difference in the long run."

Breakfast cereal: Rs 650 per kilo,
Energy bars: Rs 700 per kilo,
Walnut Brownies:
Rs 40 per piece
