GoM meet today to focus on making closing ceremony grander than the opening
All the ill will of seven years was washed away in a single day. That was the power of the spectacular opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. The Organising Committee (OC) has taken a serious note of it and therefore, the Group of Ministers for the Commonwealth Games who will meet today have nothing but another ceremony on the agenda. This time it's theu00a0 closing.
Sky's the limit: OC will reportedly give a detailed presentation of closing

Sources in OC told MiD DAY that the officials have noticed how the Opening Ceremony changed the public perception about the XIX Commonwealth Games overnight. "Therefore, plans are afoot to make the Closing Ceremony even bigger and better. Therefore, the Group of Minister have nothing on the table than the concluding ceremony," the sources said. The international media had also appreciated the way in which country's culture was portrayed in the magnificent spectacle on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
"OC will give a detailed presentation of closing ceremony before the GoM headed by Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy," they said. What has surprised many people is that Games Time Monitoring register is ringing with complaints, with new goof up being registered every day. "Transport system is a mess, accreditation process is still not complete and doctors, volunteers are not getting proper food and a number of problems have been found in venues. Also, the number of spectators is not satisfactory but the GoM will only discuss closing ceremony," said an official related to the Monitoring Committee.
"There is hardly any scope of correcting the mistakes committed in the run-up to the Games. That is why the government is now focusing so much on the closing ceremony," said a senior OC official.
"If spectators aren't coming, bad publicity is responsible for it. Now it's too late. So, the best way is to bid adieu in true international style," added the official.
