The Khiladi girl...

Anushka Manchanda is on a roll. This lissome lady won Khatron Ke Khiladiu00a0-- Level 3 last year, and her 2010 has started on a high note with Alisha from Pyaar Impossible ruling the charts. With songs in back to back releases this year, Anushka seems to have found a niche in the Bollywood music industry. CS chats with an excited Anushka about her new- found glory:

Bollywood beckons
It's amazing! I have to pinch myself sometimes to believe it. This sounds like a run-of-the-mill comment, but I really, truly feel blessed. I work hard; I enjoy my music, and still get fully excited when music directors call me to sing their songs! I hope that I have many many more back to back releases in the near future.

The early days
I wasn't even thinking about getting a break anywhere. I never thought I would be a playback singer because I didn't think that I had a typical playback voice. Maybe that's exactly what worked in my favour. After I did my first song Golmaal, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. Even then, I was new to the industry and I was quite scared. I used to psyche myself out into believing that I didn't know what I was doing behind the microphone, and that used to hinder my performance as a singer. Now I'm much more comfortable.

Grooving on Alisha
When I heard the song and the groove the first time, I could barely contain my glee. Alisha is totally up my street, and I'm so glad Salim and Suleiman thought of me. The lyrics and the vibe are such that I felt like I was this super hot chick who could rule the world behind the microphone.

Cameo debut
I am a performer and a complete drama queen, so I enjoyed doing my little scene as Sushmita Sen's friend in Dulha Mil Gaya. My main priority is my music, though. I was born to be on stage. Still, if some funky film roles or parts come my way, I would totally check them out.

My hobbies
I love dancing. I'm a voracious reader and I love going to the movies. I also enjoy eating out and trying different kinds of food.u00a0
