Mumbai Indians' fans have one more reason to cheer for their team to reach the finals of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL): the longer Sachin's boys continue their stint on the field, the more they stand to gain as patrons of the bar 20 Twenty.

Each time the home team plays, customers can avail of special discounts courtesy the bar's tie-up with the IPL franchise.

So, when the Mumbai Indians play the Bangalore Royal Challengers tomorrow, you don't need to worry about shelling out huge sums of money for your bill.

A sports bar that's easy on the pocket! We like.

Located bang opposite Escobar, currently the hippest nightclub in Bandra, you can avail of the valet parking service even on a busy night; no easy feat in this suburb.

Cosy does it

At first sight, 20 Twenty looks a little small, but that's what might work in its favour, making it a cosy space for friends to catch up over drinks.

Once known as Dhanraj Bar and Restaurant, 20 Twenty has a separate drinking and dining area.

Given that it's a sports bar, a 60-inch plasma TV occupies pride of place (alongside the massive bar), and there are at least three smaller TV sets so, you're bound to get a comfortable view of the match, no matter where you sit.

On match days, the cheering in the cricket stadium turns into ambient sound, with the only hitch being when you have to put up with the high decibel levels during commercial breaks.

Vada-ya know

20 Twenty is one of the few bars in the city that serves only vegetarian food, which is a risky proposition in itself.

How many bars do you know of that serve good vegetarian food?

So, when it was time to place our order we hesitantly asked for a Makai Seekh Kabab (Rs 170) and three cocktails Ice Breaker (Rs 250), Frozen Margarita (Rs 300) and Espresso Martini (Rs 250).

The Ice Breaker and Frozen Margarita were high on alcohol and sufficiently potent, but the Espresso Martini, with half a Kit Kat as garnish, was too sweet for our taste.

We were served Gathia and Batata Vada as complimentary accompaniments with our drinks.

Seekh and find

The surprise winner of the evening turned out to be the Makai Seekh Kabab. Unlike most Veg Seekh Kababs, which are dry and crumbly, this one was well grilled yet moist.

The kebabs were served with green mint-coriander chutney and red lasoon chutney, which proved to be a great combo.

While the Batata Vada was good, we still believe that a vada goes best with a cutting chai, not a Margarita.

If you'd like to stay on for dinner, you have the option of ordering from their sister restaurant. We liked the sight of fluffy phulkas being served at the neighbouring table.

The service here is deserving of special mention. Despite a nail-biting match playing in the background, the guys at 20 Twenty impressed us with their attentiveness.
